In the coming months — June and July — we’ve organized major annual chef events in Asia. The events will involve chef competitions, championships, and exhibitions, including the major Bake-a-star in Singapore, Asia. All the events’ dates will range from 2nd June to 19th July in 2018.
The first event is organized by the Singapore Bakery and Confectionery Trade Association (SBCTA) and is managed by the International Federation Chinese Bakery Confectionery Association (IFCBCA).
It’s will be held from the 14th June 2018 to 17th June 2018 in Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hall 401 – 403, at 10 AM – 8 PM.
In this post, we’re going to explain the details about what is involved in the championship.
The competition will be held in two phases: the international championship phase and the Singapore championship phase. These will then be further divided into two categories: bread and cake bakers categories.
We shall hold the Singapore bread and Pastries championship to allow all professionals to showcase their skills in bread baking, cake baking, and decorating; for us to choose the best bakers who will represent us in the International bakers’ championships.
Thereafter, we divide the championships into two:
- Singapore Bake-A-Star Championship (Bread)
- Singapore Bake-A-Star Championship (Pastries)
Each of the competitions will be held singly, with the days set apart.
- On day 1, the international championship for the bread baking category will be held;
- On day 2, the Singapore championship for the bread baking category will be then held
- On day 3, we shall hold the Singapore championship for pastries (Cake bakers) category
- The results and demonstrations will be held on the last day.

Our Second Event
The second event is organized by WORLDCHEFS. It is a World Bi-annual Chefs Congress where Chefs from across the globe, from more than 100 countries come together to learn, educate one another, as well as experiencing food cultures from other countries.
The Congress will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 11-14th July 2018. We normally come together to learn from one another and build bonds that bring us together as a Chef Community.
You will get to meet with major chefs, experts, personalities, and discover future trends and try out some food from other countries.
About the Event
For those of you who are new to this, WORLDCHEFS Congress and Expo 2018 is an event that is held bi-annually and is supported by lots of major companies.
Our partners include Electrolux, Nestle Professional, Sterling, and many more. We are now celebrating 80 years of gastronomy excellence.
This is, in fact, the 38th biennial world congress to be held. It will be a four-day event featuring food and beverage industry leaders as well as industrial kitchens’ complete solutions. It is the premier showcase for innovation.
The event, then, should be one of a kind. Far from meeting a lot of Chefs from across the globe, there will also be some major Malaysian experiences in-store. Therefore get ready to learn, correlate with other Chefs, and have a great time together.

Our Third Event
The third event in the schedule is the R.P.B exhibition event that will be held on 17-19 July in Suntec Singapore, Asia.
It is an exhibition event where chefs are invited to showcase their unique talents in cooking. Chefs are given this opportunity to impress entrepreneurs with their cooking, which they might invest in.

Last year -2017- we held 161 exhibitors from 23 countries, 5 national pavilions, 3000 trade visitors from 30 countries, 25 leading chefs, bartenders, sommeliers, baristas, and tea masters at fine food live and center stage demo theaters and 19 panelists and business mentors.
